Examination Day

   The Day of Atonement has always been the most important of the gatherings of Israel.  A person was cast out if He did not participate in this day.

     We are still in this world of sin.  We are living in the anti-typical Day of Atonement, which are the years from October 22, 1844 to the day of atonement the year that Christ has planned to come, of which we know not.  When Jesus work in the Sanctuary is done, He will say “It is finished” and step out and in a few days He will reach this earth, to take His faithful to their heavenly home.

     It will take seven days to go to heaven.  On the last great day of the feast, the saints will sit around the banquet table of the Marriage supper of the Lamb.  Jesus will serve the redeemed and each will partake of the grape juice with Him, that He said He would not drink until His people were in the kingdom.

          We are being judged now.  We do not know when our name will be presented to the Father for examination to decide our destiny.

     “Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you;

and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

             And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.

            For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

           And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.

             Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

     It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.”

Leviticus 23:27-32

     “Many entertain the view that probation is granted after Jesus leaves His work as mediator in the most holy apartment.  This is the sophistry of Satan. God tests and proves the world by the light which He is pleased to give them previous to the coming of Christ.  Characters are then formed for life or death. But the probation of those who choose to live a life of sin, and neglect the great salvation offered, closes when Christ's ministration ceases just previous to His appearing in the clouds of heaven.”

T 2  691

     “Jesus has left us word: "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the Master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." We are waiting and watching for the return of the Master, who is to bring the morning, lest coming suddenly He find us sleeping. What time is here referred to? Not to the revelation of Christ in the clouds of heaven to find a people asleep. No; but to His return from His ministration in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary, when He lays off His priestly attire and clothes Himself with garments of vengeance, and when the mandate goes forth: "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still.”

T 2  190

     Jesus tells us to watch for the day He will leave the Most Holy Place, so, someday He will let us know when and how to do this.
